Estação Cooperativa welcomed the technical team of Terras Dentro as part of the monitoring process for the “Terras de Ferro Centre” project, funded through the Local Development Programme.

Visit from ZERO – Association for a Sustainable Earth System, providing an opportunity to exchange experiences on environmental sustainability, community action and territorial regeneration.

An open community day dedicated to the future of the former railway buildings and their collective use.

The programme included discussions on community-led heritage management, a guided visit to the rehabilitation works of Building ID6690, and a screening of the documentary “Próxima Estação”, directed by cooperative member Manuel Vasconcelos Correia da Silva.

As part of Cidade Pré0cupada**, organised by Oficinas do Convento, Estação Cooperativa co-curated the programme presented in Casa Branca.

Activities included guided visits to the permanent exhibition Along the Lines of Shadow – Memories of Iron at the Terras de Ferro Centre; presentations of architectural projects developed by students from BASEhabitat / University of Arts Linz; screenings and discussions of three documentaries produced in Casa Branca; a presentation of the participatory artistic project Correspondence by Renata Bueno and Sezen Tonguz; the public presentation of the 2025 BASEhabitat Design-Build Studio; the participatory screen-printing laboratory Caravana Clandestina – Bicicleta Manifesta led by Atelier SER; a concert by emmy Curl; and a community dinner, celebrating food, conviviality and collective care.

The programme combined traditional construction techniques, community participation and artistic activities. It included the preparation of the foundations, collective construction sessions and a community tile-painting workshop, culminating in a new shared space for gathering, cooking and celebrating.

Estação Cooperativa partnered once again with Associação CADA to host the collective artistic residency ANIMAIS.

Over twenty-one days, participating artists explored relationships between contemporary artistic practices, technology and the rural environment.

The residency concluded with a public presentation on the 4 of October.

The Emergency Cord project officially began its public programme with an informal gathering and collective walk through Casa Branca, bringing together artists, partners, researchers and local residents involved in the project.

The walk introduced participants to the village, ongoing activities and the places that will become part of the future public art and ecological corridor.

Organised by Oficinas do Convento, this hands-on workshop focused on diagnosing structural pathologies and learning traditional repair techniques for rammed earth architecture.

The training was led by Nuno Vasconcelos and Orpheas Tziagidis, contributing to the preservation and transmission of vernacular building knowledge.

Estação Cooperativa hosted and participated in a meeting bringing together entrepreneurs, organisations and institutions from Portugal and Spain.

The event explored social entrepreneurship as a driver for rural regeneration, highlighting the adaptive reuse of former railway stations, industrial heritage and other underused spaces. Estação Cooperativa presented its ongoing work in Casa Branca as a case study.
