This is the railway village where Estação Cooperativa was founded.
Driven by the enthusiasm of individuals and organisations who recognised the immense value of the village, its stories and its disused industrial and railway heritage, this venture was launched to revitalise the derelict railway neighborood of Casa Branca and, through it, to bring people, residents, culture and services back to that small community.

Since the beginning of this process, which dates back to 2018, the vision and development of Estação Cooperativa have been accompanied and supported by a range of public and private organisations, both locally and nationally. Dozens of people with diverse backgrounds and expertise have also been involved in this journey, thereby reflecting the interdisciplinary and collaborative nature of the project.
